In our metropolitan city, many parents are so busy with work commitments they often neglect a good, healthy diet. Very often they buy fast food and microwavable frozen meals for their children. In our affluent society, many families let children eat as they please - and children are well-pleased to eat in fast food restaurants every chance they get.
Fast food bad
Fast food is typically high in calories, containing many preservatives, artificial colourings and additives. While it is convenient, fast food can cause nutritional imbalances that affect a child's growth. Also, fast food tends to contain too much meat relative to the whole meal. According to dieticians, children who grow up eating meat in the long run will have 'sticky' blood, which in turn leads to declination in thinking, judgement and communication learning abilities.
Organic food good
Parents can choose a healthier alternative for their children. Organic foods contain natural nutrients free from harmful additives or processes. As children grow, they need regular intake of vitamins, calcium and minerals through their diet.
Parents always want what is best for their children. Sometimes, this 'best' means restricting some of the freedom in their dietary choices. So if you want your children to grow up mentally and physically healthy, start by encouraging them to eat healthy. (You'd have to lead by example too!) .
