Dr Lim's specialty is Therapeutic (Endoscopic Submucosal Resection) Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy. He is an Accredited Screening Colonoscopist by Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy to perform Screening Derived Colonoscopy in England’s Bowel Cancer Screening Programme since 2008. He obtained his specialist training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine predominantly at the Leeds General Infirmary and St James University Hospital, UK. Dr Lim has successfully performed over 12,600 logged endoscopic procedures from 1998 to 2014 in UK.

Dr Lim was awarded Doctor of Medicine at the University of Leeds, UK in 2008 for his research into Clinical Implications of Gastrointestinal Epithelial Dysplasia in Surveillance Programme. He has a significant number of publications on clinical gastroenterology related subjects. He was elected as Fellow of Royal College of Physicians, London in 2011.

In addition to his interest in research, Dr Lim is also a keen teacher. Besides teaching, he is an examiner for students in England. Dr Lim is a MRCP (UK) examiner and was appointed the Associate Head of Academy for Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust for The University of Birmingham College.

Dr Lim also practices in Medico-Legal work in the UK since 2007. He obtained his training from Specialist Info and received further training in Root Cause Analysis & Incident Investigation, Advanced Communication Skills by National Cancer Action Team National Health Service UK and Team Resource Management Instructor Training.

Dr Lim was a member of Joint Specialty Committee for Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Royal College of Physicians London. JSC is an advisory committee established to advise its parent bodies on matters of mutual interest and these include workforce and training, policy statements, service reviews and setting guidelines and national standards in improving clinical care.
