Adjunct Assistant Professor Tan Teing Ee is the Head with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit at the National Heart Centre Singapore.
He is also the Director of Quality Assurance and Risk Management and Co-Director of the Heart Transplant and Mechanical Assist Device Programme.
Adj Asst Prof Tan graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1989. He did his post-graduate fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Westmead Hospital, NSW, Australia in 2001 and Mt Sinai Hospital, New York, USA in 2002. He performs adult cardiac surgery including coronary artery bypass, valvular heart disease, left ventricular assist device implantation and heart transplantation.
He has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburg since 1995 and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore since 2003.
Adj Asst Prof Tan with his friendly demeanour makes his patients feel at ease during consultation. He is approachable and patient when it comes to explaining the medical condition to his patients and family members. He often provides useful advice for their treatment.
