Anniversary Campaign 2021 Terms & Conditions

1.      This Promotion is open to existing policyholder(s) with inforced single premium policies purchased in 2020 that are not maturing in 2021, and such policies must have been purchased directly from a financial representative of The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited (“GELS”).

2.      To qualify for the Reward (as defined at paragraph 3), these policyholders must have purchased the Qualifying Plans (as set out in paragraph 3) from GELS. The new policy must be registered during the policy anniversary month of the policyholder’s existing policy and inforce by the following month (as set out at paragraph 4). This Promotion to purchase the Qualifying Plans begins on 1 May 2021 and ends 31 December 2021. Any new policy purchased in December 2021 must be issued by 31 January 2022 to qualify for the Reward.

3.      Subject to the terms and conditions of this Promotion, eligible policyholders may purchase any of the plans in the Qualifying Plans category and for each plan that meets the minimum Qualifying Premium per plan, policyholders will receive the UPGREAT points (“Reward”) indicated in the table below.

4.   New policies must be registered during the policy anniversary month of the policyholder’s existing policy and inforced by the following month. See example below.

5.      Eligible policyholders will be notified via electronic Direct Mailer (eDM) a week before their policy anniversary month.

6.      Only Policyholders who have given their consent to receive marketing materials from Great Eastern will receive the notification.

7.      Payment frequency for the selected Life Regular Premium Plans can be on a monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly basis.

8.      Each policyholder is entitled to one Reward for each successful purchase of a Qualifying Plan, subject to the minimum Qualifying Annualised Premium per Qualifying Plan and/or its riders being met; or minimum Qualifying Single Premium being met. Policyholders are not allowed to combine premiums paid over a few Qualifying Plans to qualify for the Reward.

9.      A policyholder’s eligibility to participate in the Promotion and to receive the Reward is not transferrable or assignable.

10.    This Promotion is not valid with other offers or promotions held by GELS unless otherwise stated. In the event that any duplicate Reward is awarded or if the relevant policy is cancelled within the 14-day free-look period, Great Eastern reserves the right to recover the full value of the Reward (or duplicate Reward, as the case may be) from the Policyholder.

11.      Eligible policyholder will be notified via short message service (SMS) on the Reward, which will be credited to the Eligible Policyholder’s UPGREAT account within 2 months after the Promotion end date, and after the 14-day free look period.

12.      For more information on the Promotion, you can reach out to your Great Eastern Financial Representative.

13.      Notwithstanding anything herein, Great Eastern has the absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of any person to participate in the Promotion. If Great Eastern subsequently determines that a person is in fact not eligible, for any reason whatsoever, Great Eastern may at its discretion, disqualify the participant and clawback/cancel the gifts without prior notice.

14.      Great Eastern reserves the right to vary the terms and conditions or withdraw this Promotion at any time without prior notice or liability to any party. The decision of Great Eastern on all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and binding on all customers.

15.      In participating in the Promotion, the Participants agree to release and hold Great Eastern harmless from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to any person or property arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly:
    a.  the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any Reward or parts thereof awarded pursuant to the Promotion; and
    b.  the participation in the Promotion or any Reward-related activities.

16.      The terms and conditions of this Promotion shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Singapore law. The courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from the terms and conditions, including the validity and enforceability thereof.
