Meet Ong Poh Yean, she’s in her mid 30s, married with a11-year old daughter. Art is her passion and she would love to teach disadvantaged children in the region how to paint a brighter future.
Her winning entry was an inspiring one and had won her an opportunity to realize her retirement passion.
Great Eastern helped accelerate her dream by sending her for a professional course on watercolour painting as well as conducting a workshop where she assisted alongside a well-known artist/ art educator/Advisor of Singapore Watercolour Society, Mr Seah Kam Chuan, to teach painting to a group of children aged 6 to 11 year olds. In addition to learning useful tips from the painter, she had a chance to experience what it takes to run an art studio for kids.
