This is an FAQ which provides a brief description of the Policy and is not a contract of insurance. Please refer to the policy document for the precise terms and conditions of the insurance plan.
1. Who is eligible to apply for this Great Value Protect (Plan 4) (“Policy”) through this promotion by The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited (“Great Eastern”) and MindChamps?
Registration for this promotion is open on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 1,500 MindChamps members (“Eligible Member(s)”) and Children (“Eligible Child”) who satisfy all the following criteria:
Criteria for the adult member (“Eligible Member”)
a) an individual between the ages of 18 and 65 (age next birthday);
b) is a resident in Singapore;
c) is a Singapore citizen, Singapore Permanent Resident, or foreigner holding a valid Employment Pass or S Pass in Singapore or a dependant’s pass; and
d) is not insured under a GREAT Value Protect (Plan 4 and/or Plan 5) issued by Great Eastern,
Criteria for the child (“Eligible Child”)
a) Child’s age is between 2 and 17 years old (age next birthday) at the date of registration;
b) the biological or step child(ren) from a legal marriage or legally adopted child(ren) of the Eligible Member;
c) reside at the same residential address as the Eligible Member; and
d) is not insured under a GREAT Value Protect (Plan 4 and/or Plan 5) issued by Great Eastern.
Registration for the policy must be made during the period from 9 December 2021 to 30 November 2022 (both dates inclusive) or such other dates as Great Eastern may decide, on Great Eastern’s website link which is provided in the email notification which MindChamps members will receive from MindChamps.
2. What is Great Value Protect (Plan 4)?
Great Value Protect (Plan 4) is a specially designed insurance plan to provide the Insured Life with financial protection against death and total and permanent disability as a result of an accident. It also provides daily hospital cash benefit if the Insured Life is hospitalised due to an accident, Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) infection or Covered Sickness (as defined below). The Policy is underwritten by Great Eastern.
"Covered Sickness" refers to any of the following diseases diagnosed by a registered medical practitioner in Singapore in accordance with prevailing clinical guidelines published by the Ministry of Health, where available, and supported by acceptable clinical, radiological, histological and laboratory evidence:
i) Food Poisoning;
ii) Dengue Fever;
iii) Zika; and
iv) Yellow Fever.
3. What is the effective date of the policy (“Effective Date”)?
The insurance coverage is effective on the date of the Insured Life’s successful registration of the Policy on Great Eastern’s website and is specified in the Insured Life’s Certificate of Insurance.
4. What does this Policy cover?
GREAT Value Protect (Plan 4)
1) Accidental Death Benefit
2) Accidental Total and Permanent Disability Benefit
3) Death due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
Death must occur in Singapore.
4) Hospital Allowance (up to 14 days):
i) Due to Accident Only;
ii) Due to Covered Sickness;
iii) Due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
Only covers treatment received in Singapore.
S$100 per day
5. What is the definition of “Pre-Existing Condition”?
“Pre-Existing Condition” refers to any condition, illness, disease, disability or defect for which the Insured Life has:
i) sought medical advice, investigated, been diagnosed, been hospitalised, received medical treatment, undergone surgical operation, or been prescribed drugs at any time prior to the Effective Date; or
ii) signs and symptoms which manifested prior to the Effective Date, which would have caused a prudent person to seek medical advice or counselling, undergo investigation or diagnostic tests, receive medical treatment, undergo surgery, be hospitalised, or be prescribed drugs.
The Effective Date is the date of the Insured Life’s successful registration of the Policy on Great Eastern’s website which will be as specified in the Insured Life’s Certificate of Insurance.
6. Must the Insured Life be hospitalised in Singapore to be eligible for the Hospital Allowance benefit?
Yes, the hospital confinement due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Accident or Covered Sickness must take place in a hospital in Singapore.
7. Can the Insured Life claim more than once for the Hospital Allowance benefit on this Policy?
Yes, the Insured Life may submit a claim for each hospitalisation stay (for a minimum of 12 hours) due to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) infection, Accident or Covered Sickness.
8. What is not covered under this Policy?
Please refer to the Product Summary and Certificate of Insurance for more information on the exclusions.
9. What if the Insured Life is insured under one or more GREAT Value Protect policies currently?
If the Insured Life is covered under more than one GREAT Value Protect policy issued by Great Eastern, in the event of a claim, we will consider the Insured Life as covered under the policy with the highest benefits only and the Insured Life’s coverage under the other GREAT Value Protect policies will be cancelled. Where the benefits of the GREAT Value Protect policy(ies) are identical, the Insured Life will be covered only under the policy which was first issued and the Insured Life’s coverage under such other policy(ies) will be cancelled. We will not refund any duplicated premium paid.
10. How will I know if this Policy has been successfully activated?
Regardless if you have registered yourself or child as the Insured Life, upon successful registration, an acknowledgment email containing the Certificate of Insurance and the terms and conditions of the Policy will be sent to the registered email address of the MindChamps member.
11. How long will this Policy last?
Twelve (12) consecutive months starting from the Effective Date. Thereafter, the Policy will be terminated automatically.
12. How do I file a claim for the Insured Life?
13. Will I be notified of the claim status?
Yes, you will be notified of the claim outcome in a timely manner. All successful claim amounts will be paid to your bank account (as indicated in your claim form) and a settlement letter will be sent to you.

15. What if the Insured Life has other personal accident insurance policies with another insurer, will the Insured Life still be able to claim on this Policy?
We will assess claims on this Policy separately from other personal accident policies that the insured Life may have with other insurers.
