Your Insurance Policy is a long-term investment. To get the best out of your policy, we suggest you:
Pay your premium promptly
Late payments may cause your policy to lapse, so remember to pay your premiums promptly whether or not you receive a premium notice from us. Once your policy lapses:
Keep in touch with your Distribution Representative
Your Distribution Representative can service your policy needs and advise you on any policy changes or company development. If you do not know your Distribution Representative, call our Customer Service Officers at 2233118.
Keep us informed of any Personal Updates
If there are any changes in your personal particulars (such as a new address), you can update us via e-Connect or email us at wecare-bn@greateasternlife.com. If you need any kind of assistance with your policy, there are many ways you can get help. Click here for the various options.

Apply for a policy loan
To meet your short-term financial needs, you can take a loan from the cash value of your policy, provided that the policy comes with cash value.
There are two ways to find out if your policy has a cash value:
1. Check the Great Eastern App
The Great Eastern App also provides the available loan amount on each eligible policy.
2. Ask your Financial Representative
Your Financial Representative will also be able to advise you regarding the loan amount available on each of your policies.
The cash value of eligible policies will be available about two to three years after you have bought the policy.
Typically, accident and health plans, as well as term policies do not have any cash value.
It is important to continue paying your premium every month. We recommend that you repay your loan within a year or two to avoid exhausting your policy's cash value and running into Automatic Premium Loan.
The interest for your loan is 6.0% per annum and calculated daily on the outstanding amount. All loan applications are subject to approval.

Follow these steps to apply for a loan through our customer service officer.

2. Complete the policy loan application form and submit it (along with any supporting documents where required) to the customer service officer.
After obtaining the loan, you will receive hard copy statements, you will receive an acknowledgement letter within a week.
In addition, you will also get an annual statement in the Great Eastern App or via post with the loan details and interest incurred.

Questions and Answers
Will my policy cover be affected by the loan?
Yes. You must continue to pay your premiums to keep the policy in force. When any policy benefits (such as cash benefits or maturity value) are due to you, this will be used to offset your loan, before the balance is made to you.
Do I need to submit supporting documents?
We may ask you to submit documents along with your loan application. The loan will only be paid out upon acceptance of the supporting documents.
