Initial payment

Here are a few things you need to do if you are making a premium payment on your policy for the first time.

Indicate your proposal number when making payment

You can find your proposal number (e.g. IOH1234567) in your application acknowledgement email, or in the SMS you receive after submitting your application.

Getting your policy number

If you need your policy number, you can ask your financial representative, or get in touch with our customer service at 1800 248 2888 or through email at wecare-sg@greateasternlife.com.

Payment methods

Follow these steps to pay:
  1. Open and sign in to your mobile banking app. 
  2. Navigate to PayNow to scan or upload a screenshot of the QR code. 
  3. All values will be auto-populated and you will just need to verify the company name and payment amount. 
  4. Confirm the payment.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a payment notification from your bank. Once we receive your payment, we will also send you a notification to confirm receipt of payment.

Increase your PayNow QR daily transfer limit

If you are banking with OCBC, DBS/POSB, UOB, HSBC or Maybank, you can now increase your PayNow daily transfer limit from $5,000 to up to $200,000. You can do this via your mobile banking app or through internet banking before you proceed with your PayNow payment.

A summary of the transaction limits offered by each participating bank can be found in the annex of the media release by The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS).

For initial and recurring premium payments, sign up eGIRO* via the email sent to you by your representative. 

Do note that this arrangement will supercede the the initial payment method indicated in the proposal form if the initial premium has not been made.

*Participating banks include Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, Limited (OCBC), the Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS), United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB), Standard Chartered Singapore (SC), HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited (HSBC) and Maybank Singapore Limited (MSL).

Pay using your proposal or policy number through any of the following: 

  • Any AXS machine. 
  • AXS m-Station via your smartphone or tablet 
  • AXS e-Station via the AXS website.
Follow these steps to pay:
  1. Select Great Eastern Life (10 digits) as your policy type.
  2. Select Premium as your payment type. 
  3. Enter your proposal or policy number, payment amount, name and contact number. 

Allow at least 2 business days for your policy status to be updated after payment.

When making payment via AXS, you will need to make multiple transactions if your premium is above the transaction limit. Visit the AXS website to find out more about the available payment modes and transaction limit. 

You can pay via billing organisation with the following banks, using your proposal or policy number:

  • OCBC 
  • DBS/POSB (only policy number)
  • UOB (only policy number)
  • Standard Chartered Bank
Follow these steps to pay:

For Accident & Health policies -

  1. If you are OCBC/DBS/POSB account holder, select Great Eastern Life (10 digits) as the billing organisation. For UOB or Standard Chartered Bank account holder, select Great Eastern Life - Accident & Health policies as the billing organisation.
  2. Enter your proposal or policy number in the bill reference. 
  3. Click on Pay Bills to complete the payment. 

For Life policies - 

  1. Select Great Eastern Life (10 digits) as the billing organisation. 
  2. Enter your proposal or policy number in the bill reference. 
  3. Click on Pay Bills to complete the payment. 

Allow at least 2 business days for your policy status to be updated after payment.

If your premium amount is above the transaction limit, you will need to make multiple transactions. If you have any queries, please contact your bank for assistance.

Do not transfer premiums to your financial representative’s bank account. This is to prevent the mixing of funds, and to ensure a clear separation of money belonging to you and your financial representative.

Follow these steps to pay:

1. Perform a fund transfer to Great Eastern Life’s OCBC bank account with the following details:

  • Bank: Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Ltd
  • Account number: 501-219000-001

2. Enter your proposal or policy number in the payment description or comments.

Allow at least 3 business days for your policy status to be updated after payment.

Follow these steps to pay:

Send a crossed cheque payable to “The Great Eastern Life Assurance Co. Ltd”. 

  1. Write your proposal or policy number on the back of cheque. 
  2. Mail your cheque to Great Eastern head office at: The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Ltd. 1 Pickering Street #01-01, Great Eastern Centre, Singapore 048659 • OR drop-off at the contactless drop box marked “Cheque” at any of the Great Eastern Service Centres.

You can pay by Cash or NETS personally at any of the Great Eastern Service Centres using your proposal or policy number.

Our counter servicing hours are 9.00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays):

Effective from 1 March 2023, our representatives will no longer be accepting cash. Please make premium payments to us via other cashless payment methods such as PayNow QR, eGIRO, AXS or Bank Transfer. Should you require cash payment services for your payment of premiums, please visit our cashier counter personally at Great Eastern Centre or our branches.

Renewal or regular payments

Consider using GIRO to ease your regular or renewal premium payment.

For SGD policies

PayNow QR
Follow these steps to pay by PayNow QR:

Using eConnect:

  1. Select PayNow QR as your payment method via My Services Request > e-Payment Services. A unique QR code will be generated for your particular transaction.
  2. Open and sign in to your mobile banking app (e.g. OCBC Digital, DBS PayLah!, UOB TMRW etc.).
  3. Navigate to PayNow to scan or upload a screenshot of the QR code for your transaction.
  4. All values will be auto-populated and you will just need to verify the company name and payment amount.
  5. Confirm the payment.

Using the Great Eastern app:

  1. Go to Services > Payment > Make payment.
  2. Select the policy you want to pay for.
  3. Select the transaction type.
  4. Select PayNow QR as your payment method. A unique QR code will be generated for your particular transaction.
  5. Open and sign in to your mobile banking app (e.g. OCBC Digital, DBS PayLah!, UOB TMRW etc).
  6. Navigate to PayNow to upload a screenshot of the QR code for your transaction.
  7. All values will be auto-populated and you will just need to verify the company name and payment amount.
  8. Confirm the payment.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a payment notification from your bank. Once we receive your payment, we will also send you a notification to confirm receipt of payment.

Please note that payment using PayNow QR is only available for 10-digit SGD policies.

You can pay via billing organisation with the following banks, using your policy number

For UOB or Standard Chartered Bank account holder, select Great Eastern Life - Accident & Health policies as the billing organisation.
  2. Enter your policy number in the bill reference. 
  3. Click on Pay Bills to complete the payment. 

For Life policies - 

  1. Depending on your policy number, select Great Eastern Life (10 digits) or Great Eastern Life (8 digits) as the billing organisation. 
  2. Enter your policy number in the bill reference. 
  3. Click on Pay Bills to complete the payment. 

Allow at least 2 business days for your policy status to be updated after payment.

When making payment via AXS, you will need to make multiple transactions if your premium is above the transaction limit. Visit the AXS website to find out more about the available payment modes and transaction limit.

  • Note that credit card payment is available for all Accident & Health policies and new SGD regular premium life policies submitted from 15 October 2020 onwards. 
  • For life policies launched after July 2014 and inforce before 15 October 2020, only OCBC-GE Cashflo card can be used.
  • This payment method is not applicable for regular UL policies.

You can pay using your policy number through any of the following ways:

For one-time credit card payment,

  • go to My Service Requests > e-Payment Services on eConnect
  • go to Services > Payment > Make payment on the Great Eastern app.

For recurrent credit card payment, go to Services > Payment > Change payment method on the Great Eastern app.

If you do not have access to the Great Eastern app or eConnect, please complete a credit card authorisation form. You can get the form through one of the following ways:

Set up your GIRO payment arrangement instantly* using the Great Eastern app. Go to Services > Payment > Change payment method.

Alternatively, download the GIRO application form and follow the instructions to complete and submit it. Payment will be debited from your designated bank account on the preassigned payment date upon approval of the GIRO application.

*Participating banks include Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation, Limited (OCBC), the Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS), United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB), Standard Chartered Singapore (SC), HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited (HSBC) and Maybank Limited Singapore (MSL).

2. Enter your policy number in the payment description or comments.

Follow these steps to pay:

Send a crossed cheque / bank draft payable to "The Great Eastern Life Assurance Co. Ltd".

1. Write your policy number on the back of the cheque / bank draft.

2. Mail your cheque / bank draft to Great Eastern head office at : The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Ltd. 1 Pickering Street #01-01, Great Eastern Centre, Singapore 048659 OR drop-off at the contactless drop box marked "Cheque" at any of the Great Eastern Service Centres. 

For Brunei policies

Internet banking

This service is available for all Great Eastern Life policies payments at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and Baiduri Bank Berhad (Baiduri).

For SCB accountholders, select Add A New Biller and Make a One Time Payment.

For Baiduri accountholders, select Funds Transfer within Bank.

Enter your policy number in Payment Description section for “Premium”, “APL” or “Policy Loan” payment.

Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) / Automatic Teller Machine (ATM)

Payment can only be made at SCB CDMs and ATMs only

Enter your policy number and premium amount.

Cheque Dropbox / Cheque Deposit Machine

This service is available for all Great Eastern Life policies at SCB and Baiduri 

  1. Cross your cheque and make it payable to “The Great Eastern Life Assurance Co. Ltd”
  2. Write your name, policy number and purpose of payment (Premium, APL or Policy Loan) on the back of the cheque

Please do not transfer premiums to your representative's bank account. This is to prevent the mixing of Customer's monies with the Representative's own funds, and to ensure clear segregation of monies belonging to the Customers and the Representative.

You can pay by cash or cheque personally at Great Eastern Life office.

For cheque payments, 
  1. Cross your cheque and make it payable to “The Great Eastern Life Assurance Co. Ltd”
  2. Write your name, policy number and purpose of payment (Premium, APL or Policy Loan) on the back of the cheque
