What is Corruption?
Corruption is the act of giving or receiving of any gratification or reward in the form of cash or in-kind of high value for performing a task in relation to his/her job description.
Anti Bribery and Corruption Law in Malaysia
Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (MACC Act) represents a significant development in the nation’s effort towards combatting corruption.
The provision of section 17A under the MACC Act, establishes the principle of a commercial organization’s criminal liability (corporate liability) for the corrupt practices of its employees and any person(s) associated with the commercial organization in cases where such corrupt practices are carried out for the organization’s benefit or advantage.

What are your responsibilities?
- Great Eastern Entities required all customers to comply with Anti-Bribery and Corruption Law and must not offer, give, solicit, or accept any bribes, facilitation payments, or improper advantages in dealing with Great Eastern Entities or its representatives.
- Ensure that any third parties acting on your behalf also comply with these principles.
- Avoid any activity that could be perceived as influencing underwriting, claims processing, or policy issuance through improper means.
