Foods that prevent skin cancer

We found that coffee can actually protect Singaporeans. So this is a Singapore study done by us in SGH. Diet is very difficult to change – lifestyle, diets, everything is ingrained in your habits. Very hard to change or break habit cycle. But drinks is something I do every day. So we find that interestingly, if you drink coffee every day, your risk of cancer goes down. It protects the two most common cancers in Singapore – Basel Cell Cancer (BCC) and Squamous Cell Cancer (SCC). So if you drink coffee, great.

How about my tea lovers? I cannot ignore them, right? So that's the difference between green tea and black tea. Green tea protection is quite low, but the black tea protection is higher. But don't lose heart. Green tea protects you to have younger looking skin.

How about fish? Interestingly, in Singapore, fish intake increases a little bit of skin cancer risk. It also depends, what sort of fish you take and where the fish comes from. The contents of arsenic can be a bit higher in the sea, so this can result in this higher risk that we see.
