Great Eastern Pioneers New Integrated Shield Plan Offering Quality Private Healthcare at More Affordable Premiums

Singapore, 8 October 2025 – Singapore’s longest established insurer Great Eastern today introduced a new Integrated Shield Plan (IP) for cost-conscious customers, enabling them to save on premiums without compromising the quality of care they receive at private hospitals and specialist clinics. This is possible through specially curated partnerships with leading medical providers to deliver high-quality treatment at lower premiums.

“With healthcare costs rising in Singapore, we understand our customers’ concerns about the affordability of their health insurance,” said Group CEO of Great Eastern Greg Hingston. “To address this, we have created an affordable plan to provide wide enough coverage across private and public healthcare, without the need to compromise on quality of care. Whether someone is considering their first private Integrated Shield Plan or reviewing their existing coverage, this new plan offers an affordable pathway.”

This new plan, P Prime, along with its supplementary plan, offer one of the highest annual coverage limits in the market at S$2.9 million, with out-of-pocket expenses for eligible bills capped at S$6,500 per policy year. With this plan, customers can seek treatment at Great Eastern’s broad network of partnering medical providers, including partnering private hospitals, panel of private specialists and private day surgery centres.

Additionally, P Prime also provides lifetime coverage for congenital abnormalities, comprehensive recovery and rehabilitation coverages, as-charged physical therapy benefits for up to 365 days post-hospitalisation, post-cancer and post-stroke outpatient support benefits of up to S$10,000 and $2,000 respectively per policy year.

Enhancing Restructured A-ward Plans to offer more benefits and greater value

“As we make private healthcare more affordable, we are also enhancing our Restructured A-ward plans to deliver robust support and greater value catering to the needs of various customers with varying preferences.” added Hingston.

For customers who prefer Restructured hospital coverage, Great Eastern has enhanced its A-ward plans to provide greater support during recovery through a wider range of therapies and treatments. From 1 November 2025, A-ward supplementary plan coverage will include post-stroke outpatient care covering follow-up supportive treatments and therapies, and extended coverage beyond Ministry Of Health’s Cell, Tissue, and Gene Therapy Product List.

Combined with its supplementary plan, the enhanced A-ward plans now offer one of the highest combined annual benefit limits of S$1.4million and low out of pocket expenses for eligible bills capped at S$3,000 per policy year.
