Use PayNow QR for payment

PayNow QR is a cashless method you may use for paying your policy premiums. To make a payment, scan or upload the QR code using any PayNow-participating banking app.

You can use PayNow QR* to pay for a new policy purchase and your policy renewal premium. We also accept PayNow QR when you make other payments, such as loan repayment, top-up, reinstatement, and more via e-Connect.

*Note: applicable for SGD policies only.  

For online PayNow QR:

Step 1. When making a transaction, select PayNow QR as your preferred payment mode.

Step 2. A unique QR code for your transaction will be generated. Take note of the expiry date and time.

Step 3. To make payment, scan or upload the QR code using any PayNow-participating banking app. You may refer to this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to complete your payment. Step 4. Upon successful payment, you should receive a payment notification from your bank. You’ll also receive a notification from us to confirm the receipt of payment.

For letters and notices:

Step 1. Find the unique PayNow QR code embedded in the letter or notice you received. 

Step 2. To make payment, scan or upload the QR code using any PayNow-participating banking app. You may refer to this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to complete your payment. Step 3. Enter the payment amount.

Step 4. Upon successful payment, you should receive a payment notification from your bank. You’ll also receive a notification from us to confirm the receipt of payment.

The current industry limit for PayNow payment is set as $5,000. However, the respective participating banks can impose their own PayNow transfer limits at $5,000 or more. 

Recently, a few participating banks (OCBC, DBS/POSB, UOB, HSBC, and Maybank) have increased their PayNow daily transfer limit from $5,000 to $200,000. You may need to increase your daily transfer limit accordingly via your mobile banking app or internet banking before proceeding with the PayNow payment.

For online PayNow QR, a unique SGQR code (incorporated with PayNow) will be generated for each transaction request, with a 24-hour expiry period. This unique SGQR code is no longer valid after the expiry date and time.

For PayNow QR via letters and notices, the expiry date is varied and will be stated in the letter. 

If your SGQR code expires, you can initiate a new e-payment request by generating a new unique SGQR code via eConnect. You can also request your financial representative to generate a new SGQR code if this is an agent-assisted purchase via GreatAdvice.    

Any PayNow QR payment made more than once will be treated as excess payment. We’ll then refund this excess to you.

Upon successful payment, you will receive a payment notification from your bank. For online PayNow QR, we will also send you a notification via SMS and/or e-mail to confirm the receipt of payment.

We do not encourage payment via manual input of Great Eastern's UEN number as the payment may not be processed without a unique Bill Reference No. generated by us to identify your transaction.

If your device is modified (i.e. Jailbroken, Rooted or Sideloaded), your banking app may not work properly due to the increased risk of malicious software infection.
